When browsing pages with adaptive web design on a smartphone, page scaling must be working.

Often such websites use the same images both for desktop and mobile devices. A horizontal image on smartphones becomes very small, therefore user should have an opportunity to zoom in the image to view the details.

For example, http://sfcd.com/work/mobilligy/. The image located below from Result section with 3 iPhones in a row looks just fine on a big screen, however on a smartphone it will become too small: scaling is blocked, and that is why it is impossible to expand it and view the nuances.
